Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs

Curtis A. Reynolds was named Vice President for Business Affairs for the University of Florida in January of 2012. Curtis is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of a diversified portfolio of fiscal assets for UF. The divisions reporting to Curtis are Business Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Planning and Construction, Office of Sustainability, Physical Plant, Small Business and Vendor Diversity, Stephen C. O'Connell Center, and the University Police Department. In addition, the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs provides fiscal and administrative counsel to the executive administration of the University and assures that the institution operates within the legal and regulatory parameters determined by the State of Florida and the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida.
Curtis joined UF in July 2010 as Assistant Vice President for the Physical Plant Division. As Assistant Vice President for Physical Plant, Curtis was responsible for maintaining the physical assets of UF, which are comprised of 2000 acres and 12 million+ square feet of physical space.
Prior to joining UF, Curtis was Vice Provost for Facilities Management at Miami Dade College, where he was responsible for business affairs on eight campuses with over 165,000 students located throughout Miami-Dade County. From 1993 to 2006, Curtis worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, serving in a number of key positions of increasing responsibility; he rose from engineer to executive director for administration. In the latter position, he was responsible for oversights in finance, business processes, and information technology and energy management.
Curtis holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a MBA from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Association of Higher Education Officers.
